British Wildlife Photography Awards 2009 (BWPA)
18th November 2009
October saw this year’s results for the British Wildlife Photography Awards announced at Hoopers Gallery in London by TV naturalist Nick Baker. With the standard as high as ever Wildlife-Photography.com photographer Ross Hoddinott took the top spot as overall winner.
Ross’s intimate image of a damselfly caught the judge’s eye as the most striking and memorable image amongst the thousands of entries submitted. With pin-sharp clarity and expert composition he has managed to create a truly beautiful image of a creature we may all see at certain times of year.
Ross has been cultivating a fantastic reputation as one of the UK’s hottest wildlife photographers and has had work published by BBC Wildlife, National Trust and Outdoor Photography magazine to name but a few.
