• WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN DIGITAL CAMERAS
The digital cameras now available for the general consumer market are split into 3 main categories to accommodate consumer requirements:
1: COMPACT DIGITAL CAMERAS : these cameras are the most widely used, with their compact design and ease of use they are ideal for the everyday camera users looking for something ultra portable that they can just pickup, point and press. Ideal for holiday snaps for example.
2: DIGITAL SLR's : these are the complete opposite to compact cameras aimed specifically at keen amateur photographers and professional photographers requiring complete control plus the ability to expand the cameras functionality and usability with interchangeable lenses and a host of accessories. Quality is improved thanks to larger imaging sensors and larger diameter lenses.
3: HYBRID DIGITAL CAMERAS : designed to fill the gap between compact cameras and SLR cameras Hybrid camera systems have come into their own in recent years with digital cameras. They offer both the ease of use of compacts plus the quality of the SLR system with larger imaging sensors, through the lens viewing and larger diameter lenses. Additionally they tend also to be more compact than SLRs due to fixed lenses often designed to cover a large focal range offering even greater flexibility.
