Four legged transport fleet
To help some of the poorest people who still have to carry water a long distance, AAF is now purchasing healthy young donkeys which will be loaned to a family for one year at a time. AAF will always retain ownership of the donkey, and it will be identity marked. We will ensure that the animal is properly cared for by regular inspections, and should there be a case of ill treatment, the donkey will be immediately taken back. |

Linked Schools
In July we took many text books, and an exercise book, pen and pencil for every pupil at Twimyua Primary School. These were bought with money raised by the children at Norton sub Hamdon Primary School in Somerset. The staff and pupils at Twimyua were very excited about this gift, and put on a special assembly when the school choir sang Swahili songs which we have recorded for the Norton pupils. We also exchanged many letters between the two schools.

| The girls of South Petherton Brownies also raised enough money for a similar gift to be given to Kagoongo Primary School. We took video of the children unloading the books which are now being put to good use. Kagoongo is one of the most deprived schools in the region, and this gift was invaluable. We hope to be able to help them in the future with repairs to the classrooms, and to the two water tanks which both leak. |
